三菱自動車は二十三日、大幅減産している水島製作所（岡山県倉敷市）が昨年末以降に独自の判断で、生産などに携わる技能系社員約六十人に副業を許可し、うち約四十人が実際に軽作業のアルバイトに従事していたことを明らかにした。同社は社員の就業規則で副業を原則禁止しているが、工場側が休業に伴う賃金カット分を補えるように配慮した側面もあったとみられる。
同社広報部は「今後は就業規則に沿った運用を全社に徹底する」とした上で、「水島製作所以外の工場などでは同様のことは起きていない」と説明している。
