地球温暖化: Global Warming
In the following excerpt from a Reuters article which appeared on 2004-02-03, there are a number of interesting terms that surround the topic of global warming and other environmental issues:
地球温暖化で欧米は寒冷化か 科学者らが警告
地球温暖化が進むと、欧州の一部や北米は現在より寒冷化する可能性が高い――。科学者らがこんな警告を発し、懸念を表明している。北極付近の氷が解け出し、メキシコ湾から欧州沿岸へ流れる暖流が止まってしまう恐れがあるためだという。
Chikyuu ondan-ka de Oobei wa kanrei-ka kagakusha-ra ga keikoku
Chikyuu ondan-ka ga susumu to, Beishuu no ichibu wa genzai yori kanrei-ka suru kanoosei ga takai--. Kagakusha-ra ga konna keikoku o hasshi, kenen o hyoomei shite iru. Translation:
"Scientists Warn of a Colder America and Europe as the Result of Global Warming
There is a high probability that a portion of Europe and North America could grow colder as a result of global warming--scientists issued this warning and expressed concerns. There is a risk that ice near the North Pole could melt, stopping the warm current that flows from the Gulf of Mexico to the coast of Europe...."
